Do you find yourself constantly needing to update the default date range in Google Analytics? Mine was set to 7 days by default – not a very useful range but nonetheless a range. I wanted to have the default range set to 30 days (not sure why GA doesn’t use this rather more useful range!).
Setting The Default Date Range
- Log in to your Google Analytics account.
- In the top right hand side, next to your name, click the small 3 cricles dropdown menu. Click on User Settings.
- On the settings page, set the default date range to your desired value. Save and voila, all set!
Why Google chose to put this value in such a strange place, no-one knows. What would also be great, is a date range per view (Clicking Admin > View Settings). Hopefully they will incorporate this in future updates.Do you find yourself constantly needing to update the default date range in Google Analytics? Fix here!Click To Tweet
